do we want a curator and if we want a curator what kind

As a steam group, we can make our own curator. It's that simple. A curator is that funny thing above the regular reviews on a game that you typically ignore.


Curators are reviewers. Sometimes curators get games early for press copies. Curators appear above regular reviews and importantly have a negative, positive, AND neutral "informational" option. My personal favorite (and only followed) curator goes by "Is It ♥♥♥♥?" and all of his reviews are one word.


Funny or helpful curators get follows, high follow curators get early press copies of games. Not to mention appointing someone we all like the opinions of as our trusted curator guy could be helpful to people in our group looking for games to buy.

Or we could be funny and do a gimmick curator like Is It ♥♥♥♥? or more infamously Woke Detector.



A serious curator is more likely to receive press copies, a funny curator is a good laugh. That's the major difference. Also, a serious curator that makes good points can be a better tool than the review score of a game sometimes.


Yes but it looks weird when someone looks at the curator history to determine if they should follow them and a curator that looks weird doesn't get press copies.


This is the most open-to-discussion part of the whole post. Yes, discuss the whole post but this is the one that's the most open-ended. If we do a gimmick curator, what should the gimmick be?
