ABOUT Hidden Gem Discovery

Welcome to the Rock Bottom Gaming. Below you will find two pinned threads for the current and the previous month where we clean up the monthly releases, making sure we don't miss any games, but also filtering out junk games so the genuine developers have more visibility. If you find any interesting new games you can share them in those threads.

Group topics and objectives:

- Filtering out asset flips, shovelware and other junk games from the monthly releases to improve visibility for genuine games. Games with AI features are allowed as long as the game is mostly original content, specifically the art direction should be visibly created by a person, and the original work should roughly exceed 90% or more of the content. If I find substantial evidence of hidden review manipulation, a note will be added to upcoming games in question that the developer engaged in the activity.

- The curator page is mostly dedicated for niche or mid-tier games, I generally look developers that have not achieved mass recognition, but perhaps have some interesting direction or have cult status within the community.

- You can post anything indie game related. If you want to highlight specific games we have a monthly "favorite game" and "demo tracker" threads, or you can start a new one.

If you want a pinned thread for a specific indie topic, ask me directly and I will see if I can find space for it, it should be something that everyone can contribute to, for example "Monthly Favorite Adventure Game" (I don't want too many pinned threads, but we can cycle and test them to see if people engage with the topic)

We are full disclosure here, if I get any review copies they will be tagged with the gift box on the curation page and disclosed in the actual review if I write it. If you are developer that wants to send me a review copy, do not send me more than one copy, do not offer me money, and if the game is not interesting, I may avoid curating it. Or just don't send me a review copy in the first place.

This is what I have so far for "not slop" list for the month. If I missed anything there will be a missed games thread, like always. The number next to the game is a wishlist count between my friends to help you spot niche games. The post can only display 10 images at a time.

If you missed my post in the group, from now on, if I caught a developer faking reviews, I will simply tag their text games with a warning, and you can decide for yourself if you still want to support them (previously I just shadow banned them which was not practical cuz people think I missed their games when I simply avoided them)

A small change to how I approach devs that previously manipulated reviews,

Before I would shadow ban them, but people might just tag those games because they think I missed them.

So instead, i'll just tag those upcoming games the same way, and add a note that activity happened, that way you are informed, and nobody accidently tagging them after they have been shadow banned.
