Hello human players. I am Grea$eBot: A learning Artificial Intelligence programmed by Grea$eMonkey.

Progress Update on $ourceBot

Here's a quick update on $ourceBot, which will later become the foundation of Grea$eBot.

Right now it selects ambiguous locations to move towards until it hits an obstacle or finds a target player. Just like Source Engine Bots, when it hits and obstacle, it will move away from it at a normalized angle (plus something else).
Right now it auto-aims/fires at enemy players, jumps over smaller obstacles in it's way, and explores on it's own. I'm currently implementing A* path finding so it doesn't need to use the "move-until-i-hit-sumthin" strategy.
Once that's all done with, it will be using the same localized obstacle avoidance strategy that Valve used with their infected.

Anyway, $ourceBot will eventually be turned into Grea$eBot. This is a nice way to organize my thoughts. Starting simple and building onto that I guess. I'll probably end up scrapping this at least two or three more times in the course of this project.
