Pocketeers on steam

I posted this in the Facebook group, but I figured that many people here would have missed out on hearing about a lot of these activites. This is a summary all of the "mischief" that the Pocketeers have been up to over Pocket's holiday break. A big thank you and congratulations to everyone who participated - whether you streamed, watched, played or just stopped by the group to say hi. I probably left some people and activities out, but I’ll update if you correct me in the comments :)

There has been at least one live stream every day over the break, including Christmas Day. Several people have made highlights videos of their streams and uploaded them to youtube. Several people got into the true spirit of Pocket livestreaming and had technical difficulties :D Great work to the 23 Pocketeers who streamed and played 31 different games across various platforms.

Before Christmas, we had our own caption competition, administered by Kiara (Disturbed778). There were fabulous prizes provided by the community for the top 8 and internet points for everyone else. The 17 participants were: Liam Visman (2nd), Alison Lee, Kitty Carnage (3rd), James Sapio (4th), Amber Nehal (8th), Nicholas Brett, Daniel McCormack (7th), Nathan Jackson, Liam Abbott, Nic Tringas (6th), Cameron McKellar, Eddy Van Velsen, Cristian Gutierrez (5th), Robert Hortin, Bayley Lamont, Nikki Agius and James Steward (1st). I suspect this has only whetted the appetite of everyone to win a Pocketeers shirt and they used this chance to hone their caption skills.

Jake (APawnCalledBishop) has posted another chapter of his post-apocalypse ABC adventure, where the Pocket team (aided by Ben and Jolene and disapproved of by Rad), continue to fight against the evil Spacebar and his minions. Teams, guilds and servers for Pocketeers have been started in a few games. There is always room for more!

Pocket League private match has consistently been filled to capacity. The game name is “Pocket” and password is “damp”. Blue_Pie_Ninja has made himself a hunted man by blowing up John (Ladies and Gantlemen) and stealing Icymindracer’s mariachi hat.

The steam group has reached 633 members and the Facebook group has 183. Both groups have seen large increases in numbers since the start of the break, thanks to the shoutout to the groups in the final Pocket episode.

Plans are being drawn up for plenty more games within the community. It looks like John plans to school us in driving games and show us why he has a racing rig. There are constant mutterings about CS:GO games and I’m always trying to get a Don’t Starve Together server going. We’ve also had an overwhelming 57 people signed up to learn and teach Dota 2 as part of the upcoming Noob night on the 5th January. Updates for that are coming!

I think that is everything. Amazing work, everyone! Personally, I have enjoyed getting to meet, chat and play games with my fellow Pocketeers. It’s been great to drop into the live streams and recognise so many names. I can’t wait to see you in our next game :)
