Most indie game developers I've met all say the same thing.
I have this awesome game and I've emailed hundreds of influencers, but only the a few write back...

How do I get attention from the bigger influencers?
It goes without saying, but I'm going to mention it regardless.
Before trying to get any kind of press or coverage, make sure your game is awesome. The last thing you want is to actually have some of the bigger influencers play your game and hate it.
So do your homework and make sure you've tested it with your right audience and gotten great feedback.
Alright, here goes:
Youtubers, Twitchers and other influencers get mails constantly from people who want them to play their game. BUT.
Very few people take the time, to actually research the right influencers for their particular game. Why email 100+ influencers with the same generic email, if you can email 5-10 that will absolutely love your game?
How do you make them love your game?
It's simple, make them love you by establishing a genuine connection with them that shows you have taken the time to actually read between the lines.

Let me explain:
I once reached out to an influencer with 250.000 subscribers on Youtube, so fairly big, but not huge. In his about page it said he was an aspiring voice actor in his free time. We where making a trailer for the game we wanted him to play and we thought his voice was perfect for the game, so I asked him if he was interested in doing some voice over work for us and he wrote back immediately.
It took 15 min. to familiarize myself with what his interests were and the views and sales generated by his influence paid for a couple of days work.

People are people, they look out for their own interests, think about how you can help them and in return they will help you tenfold.
