We Change Our Name!

Hey guys,

As some of you have seen the website has been undergoing some extensive changes under a temp domain "new.fearthelordgaming.com". Many have had some questions as to why this is happening, and I am here to answer those for you =).

Running a gaming community means handling a lot of moving parts and the more things I have to handle, the less time I have playing games with all of you. The new design is based on two factors.

1. Performance driven website that allows for easy and functional access while providing a professional and attractive design.

2. Robust backend that allows for easy expansion as we grow

With the launch of Discord, players rarely use the forums, which is ok, but it changes the purpose of a gaming website. We have recently purchased a premium forum software that allows us to seamlessly integrate with Discord. What they forums will do for us as a growing community:

1. Login with Discord credentials and stay logged in.
2. Discord roles are synced to the forum and allow for instant updates
3. Discord server settings can be adjusted via the website
4. Posts and reply’s are automatically posted to the discord forum channel
5. Badges and awards can be issued and earned, then synced with your profile
6. Calendar events can be made and automatically and posted in discord

1. Create automatic achievements for participation on the forums
2. Create a member roster that is linked to profiles and roles
3. Create badges/medals that are given for members who participate in the community beyond the forums
4. Regular game reviews, walkthroughs, and strategies for official games
5. Create an application process with a fillable form that is posted in a recruitment forum, and then announced on discord, similar to guilded.gg
6. Create departments to help with staff organization (recruiting, administration, etc)

Q: Why even have a forum?
A: Forums provide an awesome way for communication over time. With discord, our messages can disappear fast in conversation, so Static Information that is needed to inform players, can easily be missed. Forums provide that Static placement.

Q: Why sync it to Discord?
A: Honestly, people are lazy. If we want players to check our website, we have to make it as easy and beneficial as possible. Otherwise, it because a burden to the staff and annoyance to the members.
