The DRM Free Initiative

DRM, or Digital Rights Management, is essentially corporate regulation of digital media and what customers do with this media. Typically these regulations limit the number of installations/downloads/activations one can do on a device (or devices) within a certain time, constantly check for an internet connection (Always Online), and a variety of other frequently bothersome limitations that negatively impact customers.

It is for this reason that DRM Free/Digital Rights activism exists, to push against these corporate regulations that are hostile to customers, and to the public at large. Not only that, but folks fight for the removal of DRM because this corporate regulation impedes preservation of digital media, as often to do so risks legal battles with corporations.

Members of this group are eligible to create and edit group events, announcements, choose player of the week, invite guests to their private chatroom, review games and add comments on, or create new threads for discussion.
