The "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" balloon has debuted on the 84th annual "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade", now on NBC from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In 3-D for the first time, Greg Heffley is one of two new giant character helium balloons that will debut in the legendary Parade lineup this year, joining 13 other helium giants. The parade is part of a series of initiatives celebrating the release of the fifth book in the series, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth", which is on sale now, and the "Ultimate Fan Pack" Collector's Edition DVD of the first "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" movie, which is on sale this Tuesday for only $18.99 or less from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.


20th Century Fox was so pleased with numbers of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" that they've greenlit and fast-tracked the second movie, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules", to open in theaters on March 25, 2011.
