for Red Orchestra

Here's a few I've seen, I am sure there are many more:

1) CROSS OF IRON 1977 (well duh) - great action scenes and lots of em, hurt only by bad ending

2) ENEMY AT THE GATES (2001) - good battles, ruined by cheesy love story

3) STALINGRAD (1993) - good battles, ruined by low budget and slow last half

4) OSVOBOZHDENIE aka THE LIBERATION (1969) - excellent portrayal of Reichstag battle, tank battle of Kursk, and most everything in between. Hurt by heavy Soviet leaning and the fact that the dubbed or subtitled version is impossible to find.

5) HOT SNOW (1972) - a lot like OSVOBOZHDENIE but focuses just on STALINGRAD encirclement. Good action, though slows down near the end.

6) ATTACK AND RETREAT (1965) - Italian movie about Italians in Russia with Peter Falk and Arthur Kennedy. Stark B&W photography and a few good battles. A little too arty for its own good and not enough action.

7) BATTLE OF NERETVA (1968) - no Russians, but the best movie about Germans fighting Tito and the commie partisans.

8) TALVISOTA (1989) - no germans but excellent movie about the Finns repelling the Soviet attack in 1939. Nothing bad about it, though it's a tad repetitive.

9) TALI-IHANTALA 1944 (2007) - just came out so I haven't seen it... looks AWESOME though! It's a movie about the battle that the RO_MANNIKKALA map is based on where Finland blocked the huge Russian offensive of 1944.
