We could have been something, Crate #61. You and I, together. I don’t normally like crates, ones that I’ve come across before were cast aside, or exchanged for scrap metal or weaponry. But when I laid my eyes on you, it was different. I wanted you. Your wooden exterior, the chains, the padlock. I didn’t care what you contained in the slightest, I just knew that if one day, I could have you in my backpack, I would feel…complete.

I know it’s too late now, you’ve found someone else. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy too. I’m sure they’ll cherish you the same way I would have.

Maybe, one day, we’ll meet again, and laugh about this whole thing. Maybe not. But just know this – though I’ll meet many crates in my travels, none will make me feel the same way you did. You’ll always be the one…Crate #61.
