ABOUT The Cleanlight Group

Welcome to The Cleanlight Group!

Welcome to The Cleanlight Group.

Steam Greenlight is a fantastic idea in theory, but in practice, it has been left to die by a parent that seems to have forgotten it even exists and shows no interest in caring anyway, left to be spammed and scammed in a deluge of terrible products, shady developers, and totally humorless nonsense.

Yet even in the blackest dirt can one find gems if you dig for them. That is the purpose and mission of The Cleanlight Group. Inspired by Jim Sterling's interest in a positive Greenlight, one that demonstrates the virtues that it has, perhaps those small gems can turn into big dreams for developers who are interested in using Greenlight as a stepping stone for what may be a promising career that we all can enjoy.

The mission of The Cleanlight Group is to bring attention and awareness to those games on Greenlight that show legitimate promise, legitimate interest by their creators. We cannot promise you votes, nor can we promise you success, but at least we may offer a chance, an opportunity, that otherwise would have been drowned out by disinterested, suspicious developers who throw out shovelware like it was 1983.

This is NOT a place for begging for votes, or for bribing for votes, or for giveaways. We will not allow for simply selling an asset flip, for products that have FPS you can count on two hands, for the censorship of criticisms by deleting comments and faking reviews.

This is for the hope that dreams do come true for those who work for it and put love into what they're doing.

I added a new forum to serve more or less as an archive. As such, normal members can't post in it. If anyone thinks it'd be a good idea to change that so people can post in it, feel free to voice your opinion on it!

Hmmm. Perhaps a new section would be best.

If a game is greenlit, should the thread be moved to like a "voted" section? Or maybe I could just delete the post now that it's been greenlit? Then I suppose people couldn't come back to games that have been released. Not sure what to do. Leaving it alone is also an option.

In the Discussions tab is a Greenlight Suggestions, that's what you're looking for

Is there a place to post Greenlight games we find or should I just do it here in the comments?
