"Victory belongs to the most persevering" - Napoleon

After a meeting in Madrid between the US and Spain, observed by representatives from Mexico, a deal was reached concerning the US-Mexican border. The burden of Florida was lifted from the Commonwealth of Greater Mexico and passed to the United States, while border disuptes has been settled along the Sabine River. This agreement has solidified the relations between not only Spain and the US, but the Commonwealth of Greater Mexico and the US. Hopefully such a relationship will bear fruit.

The Adams–Onís Treaty has become a controversial topic among the people of Mexico. Agustín de Iturbide, leader of the Libertad faction, has come to blows with the Royalist faction and Presidente Juan O'Donojú. The Libertad faction complain that the Commonwealth of Greater Mexico should have control over it's foreign policy, while the Presidente argues that trust must be earned with Spain so gradually be given the right to foreign policy. The debate has reached both houses, and the issue is unlikely to be settled soon.
