It's Dead, Jim

The server has been decommissioned. It is a server no more.

Sorry for the dumb name. I just wanted a place to post info about our server setup and to get feedback whenever I take the server molestation too far. Apparently even private group names must be unique. What you see here is the result of typing some pseudo random stuff into the create dialog until something was actually alowed.

The server was out of control. The saved game files were huge, RAM use was ballooning up to a multiple of the actual available RAM and it was generally unplayable. For multiple months. Since it has been useless and idle for so long I've blown away the map content and rebooted.

I'm going to let it run for a month or two and see what happens now. If it gets out of control I'm just going to shoot it in the head and start hosting Unturned instead.

Steve's set the server to save state every hour instead of every 15 minutes. There's still noticable lag; it's just less often. I think the lag is very noticable here because this map is so much larger than the last map.

The map is awesome, though!

I turned off The Island, the data is still safe, but the Island map is not running now. Instead, try port 27016 for the center.

FYI: The Center is available on port 27016. The characters were copied over as of the weekend, but are not synced between the two maps. If the server goes down, it's not set to bring up the second map (yet).

I've been feeding everyone's dinosaurs as much as I can.

Glug's base lost a lot of Argents but most of the other's I've been able to save.

Steve and Jen's place is still rocking most. There are still A LOT of dimorphodons alive, too.
