1st Comment!!! Quick question...How does Kentucky alone have two 100,000 man armies when the CSA if I recall never had a 100,000 man army? At best you could probably field 41,904 men. Of a total population of 1,156,683 in 1860 there were 225,483 slaves this leaves a population of 931,200. Now of that you have to count women and children, I'll be nice and say 45% of the population is women and children (most likely would be much higher), so this leaves us with 419,040 for the male population. Finally let's say that you raised 10% of the male population (1 in every 10 males. Very common to see in the Civil War), this leaves us with 41,904. Let's also not forget that this is just the Republic of Western Kentucky.
