It turns out it's just the weird, complicated way it has you load random saves versus 'normal' saves.
So yes, I was able to get back into my random progression of four and a half hours. I think the character is OP and some of the weapons are OP compared to the standard progression, but I don't care. As long as I have the peak enjoyment of opening new areas and killing things, I'm going to keep enjoying the game.
Nice QOL to have enough save and teleport rooms. Ender Lilies is good about that also.
I seem to be on a female blade-wielding protagonist metroodvania ARPG kick now.

bloodstained rotn is real good it sucks ur having issues with it

This Slorp is enjoying Bloodstained: ROTN, but was mad at the broken, unpatched save system. Also getting gud in Stick it to the stickman (waiting for free goal DLC areas, nearly at cap)
