When you buy/get any product, you agree that you accept their licencing terms. Those who have all bought/downloaded it agreed to those terms. So you actually cannot do anything, because it's technically your fault.
It's been said before, it's gonna be said again. You won't get a refund. I'm sure Valve thought about the fact that certain people may "rebel", but obviously they knew about it and they still went through with it.
You can get half the Steam community to join this group, and I'm pretty sure that Valve wouldn't notice/nor give a ♥♥♥♥.
