Welcome to the TF2C Official Steam Group!

First, a little heads up on what exactly we are:
Team Fortress 2 Classic is a server-side mod that aims to bring several elements from Quake World Team Fortress, Team Fortress Classic, Enemy Territory Fortress, and Quake 3 Fortress back into Team Fortress 2. One of our main goals is to recreate all the movement options classic games had, by re-introducing bunnyhopping, trimping, sharking, rampsliding, conc jumping, and many more mobility elements! Another one of our hopes is to recreate the gameplay of the old Team Fortresses, by re-adding things like throwable Grenades, Armour, "Flying" Pyros, and the Medic's Bioweapon. And lastly, a minor goal of this mod is to correct some of the imbalance issues in TF2 ((such as the original Syringe Gun vs. the Blutsauger)).

There are currently a number of official servers running our mod. They are:

* Phoenix Chocolate Server || TFC Mod || - 217.163.31.14:27015 ((Europe, 14 Slot))
* |LoN| TFC MegaMod Server *Fast DL* - 68.232.172.177:27015 ((United States, 24 Slot))
* i3D.net - HUMPING - 213.163.68.100:27015 ((Europe, 18 Slot))

While the first two servers usually run the latest/test versions of the mod, you'll usually find test maps, Classic Maps, and Jump/Conc Maps on the third.

This group will keep all followers of the mod up-to-date on recent developments, and the general status of the mod and its servers. Also, we're very open to community input, so if you've got a suggestion, feel free to let us know!

US Server Set Up, and another note

Well, the US Server is now online. It's at the IP mentioned in the previous announcement. I've got MOST things set up, but I still have some tweaking to do tomorrow. I'm sorry if you have trouble with the grenade models; I'm trying to get them to work, as they apparently aren't for some people. I'll have that all up and running as soon as possible. There are some things on this server that differ from the other TF2C Servers. For instance, you collide with your team mates and Friendly Fire is ON. I've got a TK manager plugin that will temp ban you if you team kill too much, so I don't have to constantly watch over the server. Also, the health and armour values are all the exact same as they were in the Quake TF games (and ETF). I'm making little (if any) attempt to make this server "noob friendly", but that doesn't really effect most of you; as I'd imagine the majority of you are coming expecting a classic TF experience. Oh, also, this may not be working yet, but: ALL unlockable weapons on my server are BLOCKED. Only the default loadout for each class will be allowed, as there were no unlockables in the old TF games; and a ton (if not all) of these weapons are horrendously unbalanced (in both normal TF2 and TF2C, but it especially applies in TF2C). The server also has a hitbeep mod, that plays a small blip noise when you damage another player. Hope the HWs enjoy this one =P
All the formalities aside, I hope to see some of you on the server within the next couple of days to help me rid the server of bugs and get the mod stabilized!

And also, I have another note. For those of you that aren't aware, TF2C has a website now. It's currently under construction, but does have fully functional forums. The URL is www.tf2c.net

Okay, it appears Steam has updated something just as I was going to bed. I'm going to stop the server for tonight, and deal the the problems that the update caused tomorrow morning. Sorry to anyone that was planning to check out the server tonight ): We'll be up and running again within 12 hours though!
