Hello drivers

For AMS2 we develop an external tool which provides :

• a Ranking System on each ESRC server
  
• all ESRC servers leaderboards publication on https://www.esrc.ch and our steam group Sim21
  
• in game chat commands on each ESRC server
  
• random cars and tracks server configuration generator on ESRC server #5
  
• AI strength auto-calibration on ESRC server #5

How does it work?


The ESRC Ranking System :

All ESRC servers are Dedicated and configured to control cars, tracks and session settings so we automate tracks rotation

Each server has its own configuration and different number of tracks which define the ESRC Event, everybody can participate, at anytime!

On each ESRC server, drivers can earn points after a finished race :

• Qualify position :

  3. gives 6 points
     
  4. gives 4 points
     
  5. gives 2 points
     
  6. gives 1 point

  1. DNF gives -1 point
     
  2. Retired gives -2 points
     
  3. Disqualified gives -10 points

The Leaderboard is saved to our external database and is :
- displayed to the in game chat at the end of race or by hitting the chat command !board
- published on https://www.esrc.ch and visible from the top right Ranking menu
- published on our Steam group Sim21

Each earned point from all ESRC servers are saved to our external database for each driver, by server and cumulated from all servers as Experience (EXP). When a driver earn enough EXP, a new Title is unlocked. The first Title is Trainee, after few earned points a step D is reached, which is displayed as Trainee{D}, next step is C, then B, then A before the new Title Rookie, and so on

The Driver Experience rank is displayed to the in game chat when joining any ESRC server, or by hitting the chat command !rank (with the upper and lower rank driver) or !top (the Top 10)

When all races are finished, for each class Leaderboard with at least 2 participants, the first driver earns a Trophy! For each class, a Hall of Fame is visible from the Racers Experience Board[esrc.ch]


The ESRC Leaderboard publication :

After each finiched race from any ESRC server, we automatically publish the race results, the server Leaderboards by class and drivers EXP :

The ESRC servers chat commands :

On each ESRC server, all drivers can use commands to the game chat :

• !help
  displays all commands
  
  
• !rules
  displays the Event rules : tracks, points ranking, ...
  
  
• !top
  displays the EXP Top 10
  
  
• !rank
  displays the driver rank (with upper and lower rank driver)
  
  
• !record
  displays your track record
  
  
• !board
  displays the server leaderboards, by class
  
  
• !host
  displays the host driver name, who is allowed to use advanced commands
  
  
• !date
  displays the session date and time
  
  
• !ai
  displays the AI strength, the value is from 1 to 100 percent

The host driver can use advanced commands to the game chat :

• !next
  when the session is started the host can skip it, except the race session which is restarted (game implementation)
  
  
• !restart
  restarts the server which disconnects all drivers and needs few seconds to be displayed back to the lobby, it can be used by the last driver instead of leaving the server to don't increment the track rotation index (game implementation)
  
  
• !ai <number from 1 to 100>
  when in the lobby, the AI strength can be set by this command, for example !AI 75 will set the AI strength to 75%

The ESRC server #5 specificities :

The ESRC server #5 use our server configuration generator to automatically reconfigure the server settings :

• random car list to discover all the very rich AMS2 content
  
• random track list according to the selected cars : karts will use only kart tracks, other class will use other tracks
  
• date set to the server local date

The server reconfigures automatically its setting after 24h if nobody finished the first race, or after all races of the Event are finished and everybody left the server. At the end of the Event, drivers can restart the Event by finishing the first race, and so the server won't be reconfigured automatically after all drivers leave

At the end of the Event, our external tool computes the AI strength calibration from each class Leaderboard :

• if a human driver win the Event then the AI Strength is incremented by 1 (max value is 100%)
  
• if a human driver is on the podium then the AI strength is not changed
  
• else the AI strength is decreased by 1 for each position after the third the human driver is ranked
  for example if the first human driver is ranked to the 6th position in a class Leaderboard, then the AI strength auto-calibration will be decreased by 3 (minimum value is 1%) for the next time driver use this class

Mit freude darf ich euch mitteilen, dass ich heute die Bestätigung erhalten habe, dass sie meine Zahlung für das webhosting erhalten haben und ich ab sofort mit unserer Homepage starten kann😊Dies bedeutet natürlich, dass ich die nächsten Abende nicht sehr viel auf den Servern anzutreffen bin😞Ich werde heute Abend mal mit dem hochladen des CMS (Content Management System) beginnen. Auch werden die Server unbenannt sobald die Homepage erreichbar ist. Da wir Fahrer aus ganz Europa in unserer Gruppe und auf den Servern haben, habe ich mich für ESRC ( European Sim Racing Community ) entschieden. Leider konnte ich die Domain nur noch mit .ch sichern, .de und .com sind schon vergeben. Unsere Seite wird dann also unter www.esrc.ch erreichbar sein. Natürlich werden wir dann auch das Ranking System auf der Homepage implementieren und die Ergebnisse auf der Page publizieren.

With joy I may inform you that I have received today the confirmation that they have received my payment for the webhosting and I can start immediately with our homepage😊This means of course that I’m not very much to be found on the servers the next evenings😞I will start tonight with the upload of the CMS (Content Management System). Also, the servers will be unnamed as soon as the homepage is accessible. Since we have drivers from all over Europe in our group and on the servers, I have decided to ESRC ( European Sim Racing Community ). Unfortunately I could only secure the domain with .ch, .de and .com are already taken. So our site will be reachable under www.esrc.ch. Of course we will also implement the ranking system on the homepage and publish the results on the page.
As soon as everything is set up, you will hear from me. Until then, have fun and let the tires glow😆😜✌🏼

Guten Morgen Ladies and Gents☺️

Wie ihr sicher mitbekommen habt, haben Jimmy und ich, in letzter Zeit, immer etwas an den Servern gearbeitet. Wobei eigentlich Jimmy die ganze Arbeit geleistet hat und ich habe ihm mit Rat und Tat zur Seite gestanden😁

Also schauen wir uns das mal genauer an🧐
Als erstes hatte Jimmy die Idee, dass wir ein ranking auf den Servern haben, da Reiza noch ne Weile braucht, bis ihr ranking system funktioniert. Also hat er ein powershell script für die Punkteverteilung geschrieben.
Der Sieger kriegt 10Punkte, 2ter-8Punkte, 3ter-6Punkte usw.
Dann kam Jimmy die Idee, dass die Punkte im Chatfenster gezeigt werden, also hat er das nächste script geschrieben. Natürlich mussten wir es ab und zu auch auf den Servern testen, da nicht immer gleich alles auf Anhieb funktioniert hat. Aber als dann alles so funktionierte wie gewünscht, kam die Idee, die Resultate auf einer Homepage oder in unserer Steam Gruppe zu veröffentlichen. Also auf zu den nächsten scripts. Wir haben in steam einen bot erstellt, der jetzt in unserer Admin Gruppe ist. Nach jedem Rennen werden die Ergebnisse an unseren bot gesendet und dieser veröffentlicht die Resultate in unserer Steam Gruppe🥰😍
Das Ganze ist jetzt natürlich noch in der Testphase und wird noch optimiert, ihr könnt es aber bereits auf dem Nordschleife Server und dem Car&Track rotation Server testen. Auch hat Jimmy noch ein script geschrieben, mit dem ihr auf dem Server ein paar Befehle eingeben könnt, um zB. zum Rennen zu switchen, oder zum nächsten Event. Sobald ihr auf den Server joined kriegt ihr eine Nachricht mit den Befehlen. Hier kann euch vielleicht Jimmy genauer erklären, was alles möglich ist.
Wir werden heute das Ganze mal etwas testen und schauen ob auch alles so funktioniert, wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben. Auf jeden Fall ein riesiges Dankeschön an Jimmy für seine Arbeit!💪🏼Du bist ein Genie😜😁

As you have noticed, Jimmy and I have been doing some work on the servers lately. Where actually Jimmy has done all the work and I have been helping him with advice and support😁

So let's take a closer look🧐.
First of all, Jimmy had the idea that we have a ranking on the servers, because Reiza still needs a while until their ranking system works. So he wrote a powershell script for the point distribution.
The winner gets 10points, 2nd-8points, 3rd-6points and so on. Then Jimmy got the idea to show the points in the chat window, so he wrote the next script. Of course we had to test it on the servers from time to time, because not everything worked right away. But when everything worked as desired, the idea came to publish the results on a homepage or in our Steam group. So on to the next scripts. We created a bot in steam, which is now in our admin group. After each race the results are sent to our bot and he publishes the results in our steam group🥰😍
The whole thing is of course still in the test phase and will be optimized, but you can already test it on the Nordschleife server and the Car&Track rotation server. Jimmy has also written a script with which you can enter a few commands on the server, for example, to switch to the race, or to the next event. As soon as you join the server you will get a message with the commands. Here maybe Jimmy can explain you more exactly, what is possible.
We will test the whole thing today and see if everything works as we imagined. In any case, a huge thank you to Jimmy for his work!💪🏼You are a genius😜😁
