The eternal winter begins!

To the east, past the desert, jungles and open steppes, a once powerful empire now is in the brink of collapse. The year is 55 of the Yueliang Dynasty, and although the Yue family united the Empire after the war of "the 5 Kings" 70 years ago, the empire has hardly had the time to heal, and the scars of the 5 warlords has left a long term affect upon the people, army, land, and even the favor of the gods.

With the land in chaos and flames, the gods punished the Empire with an "eternal winter", covering the skies with ice and rain, and the ground with snow and torment. The air is cold, food is scarce, and desperation has sunk into the hearts of men as many turn towards banditry, raiding and infighting. This in turn, has made the leading dynasty become weak and frail, which in turn allows the prince of the Yueliang dynasty chip away at its glory by pushing their own motives.

However, there is hope, the gods wish for a new leader to rule the people with determination, mercy, and hope. In the year 35 of the Yueliang dynasty, a flaming dragon flew across the sky, bringing in a good omen. It is said that if a dragon flies across the skies, it indicates that the heavens above have chosen the next to uphold the mandate of heaven, and rule the land as Emperor/Empress.

But such omen has brought ambitions. Greed, fear, power along with hope has flooded the land. The Princes of the Yueliang seek out such Emperor to create a puppet, the Imperial Guards seek to murder this false leader, and the people pray that such a man is able to bring the torment of the land to an end. However, such man has not been found..... yet.

This is the Shattered Empire, and from the fragments, heroes will once again be remembered and forgotten.
