Ok gents, I am in Hanoi Vietnam and have had time to do some work on the server. As many of you have seen over the past few days I pushed a small update where jets and other aircraft were patrolling the skies of the server. So far most feedback has been negative, and I want everyone to know that I take your opinions seriously.

So here is the deal, today I am pushing a new update that is designed to immerse players into the storyline of the server. You are going to see an increase of AI presence on the server outside of missions. You will also see a massive increase in the amounts of aircraft in the sky, including jets. But here is the twist, the jets are friendly. You read that correctly, not only are you going to see an increase in AI trying to kill you, you are also going to see an increase in the number of AI that will help you.

When you log onto the server from now on, there will be BBC News Updates that will inform you of current world events. The current events taking place in Chernarus is knows as "The Crisis in Chernarus", I will post the news update below so you can read for yourself exactly what is going on. To give you the reader's digest version, Stalker Forces now occupy Chernarus, the Russian government has collpased due to the Zed Virus, the UN is concerned that Stalker forces may have not only weaponized the virus, but may have also obtained nuclear weapons and the United States has sent a small detachment of ground forces to recon and eliminate Stalker forces in addition to executing an aggressive bombing campaign to include surgical air strikes.

Basically the server is in the middle of a warzone. The missions will continue as they always have, those too however over time. In addition, player events will be held to help shape the future of the war on the server. Player actions and outcomes of these events will help shape the future of this storyline.

My goal is to simply give players a more hands experience in this post apocalyptic world, and to really give them a sense of apprehension, fear and nervousness when making the decision to leave the safety of their base. Because to me playing the same old servers with the same old rules gets boring, I want people to experience geniune emotions, anger, frustration, elation, revenge, joy ect. I have a several twists and surprises in the near future in regards to the server that I think many people will find enjoyable, so I hope you guys stick around.

After 4.7 billion deaths, expert's now believe the Zed virus is on the decline due to human population reaching historically low levels not seen since the middle ages.

With the fall of the Russian government, The United Nations and WHO officials are attempting to contain the last known hotbed of Zed activity in the province of Chernarus

Reports indicate the recent deaths of several WHO team members in the province are due to the increasing presence of hostile paramilitary forces.

The organization known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. have once again claimed responsibility for the team member's deaths, and are issuing a warning to the world's governments to submit to their rule or face dire consequences.

The United States Congress have unilaterally decided on decisive military action despite UN vetos calling for diplomacy due to fears of possible STALKER weaponization of the virus.

The United States has announced a plan to engage and eliminate STALKER forces through aggressive bombing campaigns and surgical strikes.

Preliminary intel has revealed the possibility of STALKER forces having acquired tactical nuclear warheads with the intent to cleanse the province and the world of non-believers.

The US Chief of Staff was quoted as saying a full nuclear strike on the province is on the table if credible evidence supports such claims.

STALKER occupation in the province continues unabated, and reports of genocide of the local population have drastically increased over the last 3 weeks.
