I would also recommend Industry Giant 2 Gold (IF you can get it to run; it has several GPU compatability issues that require some software expertise, but definitely worth the effort. Fixes are available through the forums.) and Transport Giant (pretty good if you can get past the cheesy music). No, not Transport Tycoon; can't fathom why anyone would waste their time with those antique graphics. Looks like something off of my Commodore 64.

Perhaps not the Best Game Ever, edgardmbf, but certainly the best of the railroad tycoon games. Neither it's predecessor, successor, nor the reboot Sid Meier's Railroads, are as good as this. Imagine how much better if would become if Steam did a graphics update and added the ability to build tunnels and bridges on demand. It might very well be the best game ever in that case.
