On the topic of AI in game development

Hello Retro Bits and visitors, it has come to our attention that recent games being submitted have AI usage in them. We want to make it clear that we don't tolerate nor do we wish to promote AI usage on our page.

With some of our members being artists we feel strongly on the topic, specifically that AI "art" is simply art theft and morally wrong. Though there is a line with assistive and generative AI and the rise of its use in art, game development and other content; we see it as creators doing a disservice to the consumers of said content.

We will make sure to check for the use of AI and if anyone finds usage of AI in any of our previously reviewed games feel free to let us know so we can take action. If you do so either comment on our mistake correction post or right here on this announcement, conversely feel free to join our Discord and let us know there ^^

Apology + Promotion of review keys

Hello Retro Bits, Alice here.

I'm posting this announcement for two main reasons:

The first one is to sincerely apologize to you all for not being able to release reviews as of late. Life has become fairly more demanding, free time has been reduced, and the overall motivation has been lacking for a while now.

The second and most important one, is to apologize to all the developers who have entrusted us with their keys, but that (due to the prior part) we haven't been able to review just yet. Some of these keys have been waiting for nearly a year now, which is both embarrassing, and hard to face. I've already reached out to the developers to personally apologize, but I thought it would be best to link every single game we have accepted and have been offered, so you all can hopefully give them some love <3
