Prehistoric Tragedy Ark Server, Running "The Center" Map

For whatever it's worth, I played a lot on a Official server when I first started with Ark, grew tired of hackers and no real server support. Joined a solid unofficial server with low multipliers, similar to Official but a bit spruced up -- no mods. Spent a lot of time there, eventually the server shut down without notice. Bummed me out. Since then I've jumped between a few servers, some close down, some had admin abuse, I just got tired of dealing with all the uncertainties when playing a game with such a high level of time investment. So I looked into hosting my own server, and have played around with various mods over the past few months. I feel the server I'm running now is a unique experience from Vanilla Ark. It's not as grindy, but there's still progression and what I find to be an enjoyable play style. If you've played Ark a lot, it's something different, if you're new to Ark, it's still easy to pick up and run with.

We run 3xGathering 6xTaming 4xExperience, Level 240 Wild Dinosaurs, a unique map 'The Center', and some other popular mods.

PvP server, currently not very populated, only a few players. Fresh server. So far those who are playing aren't PVP oriented, we just find playing on PVE servers to be boring.

Steam Workshop link to the map we use. If you want to play, subscribe to the map now, it'll initiate the download for it. ( 1.4gb ) Much easier to download it that way than by joining the server. If you don't have auto updates enabled on Steam, mods won't actively download. Manual installation is tedious. Try turning it on temporarily to download all the mod data.

We're also using a item stacking mod, so mostly all items now have increased stack sizes, stone for instance goes up to 1000 and has a slightly reduced weight. We have worked around the jerky glitch caused by the stacking mod by using another mod that creates Jerky. Although I can't get around the Slingshot glitch, making it unusable! That being said I think the stacking mod is worth it, and narq arrows aren't too hard to get.

There's the Advanced Architecture mod as well, commonly called "Castles", and "Advance Ark 8.1" which adds a bunch of random stuff. ( It fixes the Jerky problem. )

Big Rafts, adds improved structure capacity on rafts and a "Dino Barge" which is a much larger boat made of metal and cementing paste etc.

Cool Never, glad to hear, looking forward to playing. We're probably gonna start up this weekend, and there's another tribe with a fairly decent population that we were allied with on our last server that might be coming over as well. We'll see though. Regardless, we'll look forward to seeing ya'll in game. :)

Just updated the mod list.

I wasn't able to get the Base Radar mod to work, or the Noob Starter Kit mod, although I'm going to look into that again soon because I like the idea of it. Removed them from the list for now though, along with Joans Meat Spoiler, It was possible for it to spoil tens of thousands of meat all in a split second due to the increased stack sizes, created lag spikes.

Added the Big Rafts mod and Extra Items mod. Both were already installed but I forgot to add them to the mod list.

In regards to the Starter Kit, any new player is encouraged to contact me for some starter gear. I'll provide a set of primitive metal tools and flak armor, as well as a lower level dino. ( Details in the discussion thread. ) With the wild dino level reaching 1020, some primitive gear isn't very OP. We use Better Beacons so you will have access to higher quality (Mastercraft+) relatively easily.

@Tonsai We use the Big Rafts mod actually, I might have forgot to add it to our list of mods. I have one of the Dino Barges that I'm starting to build on, it's a great mod. :)

You can post here or add me directly and message me. There's a discussion thread for anyones ideas or suggestions as well.

I'll be honest, we're lacking in players at the moment, there's just a few of us, but I'm hoping that with time that will change.

Hey gents, real excited to start on this server. Got me and 3 others that are looking for a good Valhalla server to play on, and possibly more if we like it, which looking at the mods you've got running, I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. How can we go about requesting mods though? Would love to have the Big Raft mod installed, it lets you have 2000 structures on a raft, and it adds a barge that you can literally build a battleship on. It'd be sick to see with all the water on the valhalla map. What do you think?

@Wizzy Yes that spot is able to be claimed, I have a base on the Island, but I'm thinking of moving it so others can fight over the location lol. I'm thinking that with my ruleset, with no total base destruction, that bases built on top of special resource spawns would be exempt from that. Like if someone built on the Penguin Island blocking Oil/Penguin spawns, or on the middle Island you're talking about, blocking the Pearl spawns. Anyways I'm not blocking the cave and none of my dinos are aggressive, so if you need some pearls feel free.
