The 2017 Saint Petersburg Metro attack was an explosion that took place on 3 April 2017 on a Saint Petersburg Metro train between Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologichesky Institut stations. Initially, nine people were killed and later two more people died from their injuries. At least 50 others were injured in the incident. The explosive device was contained in a briefcase. A secondary explosive device was disarmed two stations from Saint Petersburg station.
