Some of you may know this already, but this is just a reminder that PAYDAY 1 will be free for 24 hours on the 18th of October . I think that this will be a great opportunity for people to get a game where we can maybe play together as a group (since other free games such as Team Fortress 2 aren't liked as much by some people). I've already put a couple hours into PAYDAY 2, and that's a pretty good game, despite some flaws. And I've heard many people say that its predecessor is just as good.

One of the problems with Payday 2 is that it does have some issues with optimisation, so although I'd advise that everyone get the 1st game when it goes free anyways (because naturally, it's a free game), some people with more lower end computers/laptops may struggle to run it without lagging horrendously. Although I'm not sure if those optimisation problems are exclusive to the sequel or not.

Furthermore, the last couple times Steam gave out free games for a day or so (Red Orchestra 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Sniper Elite V2 come to mind), there seem to be huge problems with servers, as well as the store and user interface of Steam, just crashing. Due to so many people rushing in at the same time, to get a free game. It can get pretty bad. And lots have people have been given at least a month heads-up on this free game thing happening. So I imagine that the servers may be bothersome, and that you should try and add it to your account as soon as possible.

That's all for now! Just add it to your calender or set an alarm on October 18th to remind you, or do whatever you technological people like to do to these days to remind you about something. I hope to be robbing banks with a few of you relatively soon. :D

EDIT: IMPORTANT NOTICE. 14/10/14

The developers of Payday (Overkill) have recently announced that Payday 1 will be available for free, now on OCTOBER THE 16TH, which is this Thursday. Please make haste and re-arrange your calender schedules and whatnot, as soon as possible. Sorry for the confusion!!

UPDATE NUMBER ONE: 16/10/14

As predicted, the servers appear to be going down a lot, since millions of people are trying to get it at once. At the moment, the purchase button on the Payday: The Heist store page appears to have disappeared. When it comes back, just add the game to your account and it's yours forever.

Make sure to join the PAYDAY 2 official group page, just in case it only lets you get it by being a member of the group for some reason. I'll keep this updated for when I see the store page working. You should have until 18:00 on the 17/10/14 to get the game added to your account.

UPDATE NUMBER TWO:

The button is now working!! Just click 'install game' and it's yours to keep forever. Note: You do not have to finish installing it by tomorrow, just make sure you start installing it and then pause it, if you need to finish it another time.
