Spreading awareness and educating individuals on the dangers of scam through Steam and other third-party resources.

Dear Members,

As some of you may have noticed, there have been individuals as of recent floating around in Steam with the ability to hijack accounts without acquiring any login credentials or access to the Mobile Authenticator. Apparently, they employ several methods in the form of requesting seemingly benign tasks such as accepting a request from an alleged Steam moderator or voting for their pro team on seemingly legitimate websites. Whatever it may be, doing so apparently grants such individuals access to your account, through which they may approach individuals in your friends lists as well.

Be wary of "friends" who may speak to you in a manner out of the ordinary, or usually silent friends who try to initiate a conversation out of the blue. As always, remember to document such run-ins and report them here for the benefit of your fellow members, so that we may also report and avoid them as well.
