Founded in the early 1980s by Matt Horn, IDGN has seen more than 10,000 members over the decades. We’re a smaller, tighter crew now — and honestly, that’s part of the charm. We play because games are fun, not because we need to flex. Some of us have worked in the industry, some have competed at high levels, and all of us bring something different to the table. If you want in, great — just follow the code:

1. Respect the squad. Especially anyone running the IDGN tag. They’ve survived decades of patch notes, balance changes, and at least three failed MMOs. They’ve earned it.

2. No tantrums about gameplay. You died? You lost? Cool. Get better. Whining about your K/D isn’t part of this group’s DNA.

3. But yes — you can vent about the industry. Bad seasons, broken patches, predatory monetization, studios ignoring their communities… that’s fair game. We’re veterans — we’ve earned the right to call out nonsense without turning it into a pity party.

4. Win like a grown up. A little trash talk is fine — we’re not monks — but if your ego needs constant feeding, this isn’t your forever home. Save the bragging for when you invent cold fusion.

5. Loot with integrity. If a drop helps someone else more, pass it. Don’t be the dragon sitting on a pile of gear you can’t even use. Greed kills groups faster than any raid boss.

6. Don’t be a Santa. Dropping end game gear on new players doesn’t make you generous; it makes the game boring. Help them learn — don’t turn them into level 5 demigods who one shot everything by accident.

7. Have fun and leave real life at the door. We’re all here to escape for a bit. Wipe the real world off your shoes before entering. This is a sanctuary of pixels, caffeine, and questionable decisions.
