I Became a Game Curator — and You Can Help Me Out

Hey folks! How’s it going?

After years of hoarding nearly two thousand games on my Steam account (yep, two thousand... at this point I think it officially qualifies as digital heritage), I finally decided to give that library a nobler purpose: I started publishing reviews directly on Steam!

Steam Curator and the joy of short, straight-to-the-point reviews

The idea is simple: to share honest impressions, useful info, and—whenever possible—a touch of good humor about the games I’ve played

I chose the Steam Curator system because each review is limited to 200 characters. That helps me sharpen my writing in English, publish content more regularly, and offer quick, no-frills insights on each game—without demanding a long read from anyone just trying to decide what to play over the weekend.

The goal is to help other players navigate the ocean of new releases with curated picks that include strategy, adventure, action, RPGs, and classic titles that aged well (and often go for cheap during the big Steam Sales). Oh—and of course, to highlight Brazilian games that deserve way more visibility.

As I mentioned above, the reviews are written in English to reach a broader audience—which also helps shine a light on Brazilian indie games that often go unnoticed outside the country.

I genuinely believe the Brazilian—and Latin American—game scene has a lot of amazing things to share with the rest of the world.

As part of this new gamer-turned-communicator phase, I’m also officially launching my YouTube channel and Twitch stream, both under the name H plays videogames. You’ll find the links at the end of this post.

There, I’ll share gameplay sessions, first impressions, curated lists, analysis, and reflections on games that left a mark on me (or just pissed me off in a fun way 😂).

Little by little, I want this project to become a space to connect with more people who love games—as a relaxed, welcoming place where you don’t have to be hardcore to enjoy yourself.

To start with, all content will be in English, but who knows? Maybe I’ll stream in Spanish and, of course, Portuguese too.

It’s quick, free, and helps a lot in getting your work noticed.

Just head to your game’s page on Steamworks and look for “Connect With Curators” near the top. Search for H plays, and you can submit your game for review right there.

Oi, pessoal! Tudo bem?

Depois de anos acumulando quase dois mil jogos na minha conta da loja Steam (sim, dois mil… a essa altura já dá até para considerar patrimônio mesmo), resolvi finalmente dar um destino mais nobre a essa biblioteca digital: comecei a publicar reviews direto na Steam!

Steam Curator e as resenhas curtas, direto ao ponto

A ideia é simples: compartilhar impressões sinceras, informações úteis e, sempre que possível, um toque de bom humor sobre os jogos que joguei

Optei por usar o sistema de Steam Curator porque cada resenha pode ter no máximo 200 caracteres. Isso me permite praticar meu poder de síntese em inglês, produzir mais conteúdo com regularidade e, ao mesmo tempo, oferecer insights rápidos e diretos sobre cada jogo — sem exigir uma leitura longa de quem está só querendo decidir o que jogar no fim de semana.

A proposta é ajudar outros jogadores a navegar melhor pelo mar de lançamentos da loja, com uma curadoria temática que inclui estratégia, aventura, ação, RPGs e clássicos que envelheceram bem e geralmente ficam bem baratinhos nas Steam Sale, as grandes promoções da loja. E claro, dar maior destaque aos jogos brasileiros que merecem muito mais visibilidade.

As resenhas, como comentei acima, vão ser em inglês, justamente para alcançar uma comunidade mais ampla — o que também serve para ajudar a dar visibilidade aos indies brasileiros que, muitas vezes, passam despercebidos fora do país.

Eu realmente acredito que o mercado brasileiro — e latino-americano — tem muita coisa legal para mostrar ao resto do mundo.

Como parte dessa nova fase de gamer comunicador, estou oficialmente lançando também meu canal no YouTube e na Twitch, ambos com o nome H plays videogames. Veja os links no final do texto.

Lá, vou compartilhar gameplays, primeiras impressões, listas comentadas, análises e reflexões sobre jogos que me marcaram (ou que só me deixaram irritado mas renderam boas histórias 😂).

Aos poucos, quero transformar esse projeto em um espaço para conversar com mais gente apaixonada por videogames — de forma leve, acessível e sem precisar ser hardcore para se divertir.

Num primeiro momento, o conteúdo será todo em inglês mas quem sabe possa fazer também algumas transmissões em espanhol e claro, português.
