Nation

The Jewish nation was born out a covenant between Abraham our Patriarch, and G-d. From this moment, the Hebrews went on to establish a spiritual, cultural, and national presence in the area of what is now Israel and its surrounding regions. Today's Jewry can trace their lineage to 2000 BC, their historic land rights to the ancient kingdoms of Judea and Israel, and their ethno-religious identity to thousands of years of kept traditions.

Population

The Jews are an ethno-religious group indigienous to the region of the Levant, specifically Ancient Israel. The core Jewish population is estimated to number around 14 million, with 6.5 million residing in the State of Israel. The rest of the world's Jewry lives in the diaspora, predominantly the United States which is home to nearly 6 million Jews.

Religion

The Jews hold not only an ethnic identity, but Judaism as their core belief. Judaism can trace it's history to the Patriarchal Period leading back to 2000 BC. Today, it holds many denominations within it, with the main ones being Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Reconstructionist. Within these groups there are further specifications such as Modern Orthodox, Chassidic, Karaite, Ashkenazi, Sephardic, Mizrahi, and several others that are not mentioned.
