Goodfellas Gaming: The Best 1970's Roleplay Ever

These are the rules you must follow to avoid a ban on Goodfellas Gaming.
Purposely breaking the rules will not be tolerated. You are expected to have read the rules upon joining, so not knowing them is not an excuse.

RDM
Killing other players for no good reason is not allowed. Treat murder in-game like you would treat it in real life. You must have a very serious reason to kill another player. As with most of the rules, it's always a good idea to check with an admin to see if what you are doing is allowed.

Arresting Players / RDA
To arrest another player, you must have a valid reason. They must have broken one of the laws as written on the town lawboard. You can only arrest somebody if they have first been tied down. You must also read them their rights, which go - "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attourney, if you can not afford one, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights as I have read them?"

Roleplay Rules
As this is a SeriousRP server, you are expected to treat it as if it is real life. That means keep criminal activities in private, don't sit on other player's heads, etc. Common sense is key. Also, very important - do not have a gun out for no reason. You can and will be arrested (or even punished) for having a weapon out for no reason. Even as a police officer, don't have a weapon out unless you need it. You wouldn't point a gun at somebody's face unless you may need to fire it, so don't have it out for no reason.

It is up to a person to advertise their services, otherwise they cannot be called upon.

NLR
NLR stands for New Life Rule. NLR means that once you die, you are a new person with no knowledge of your past character's life. It also means you may not return to the place of your death for 5 minutes.

FearRP
FearRP makes it so that when another player has a weapon on you, or anything which would make them intimidating, you must obey them. If somebody has FearRP over you, you can't pull a gun out (unless they turn away for an extended period of time ~ 1+ minutes) or run away. If they outnumber you, or are part of an infamous gang like the local mafia, they will have FearRP over you and you will be pressured to do as they say.

Metagaming
Metagaming is the use of OOC (Out-of-Character) information in-character. For example, you may not know the job or name of another character unless you would realistically know it. For example, you can tell that a police officer is a police officer because of their uniform. Most characters would know who the local mob boss, or even any mobster is, because they would be well known around town. That said, you cannot arrest someone simply because of their job. Most of the time, to know another character's name or job, you must ask them.

Building Rules
For the most part, buildings should be realistic and raidable. If a base is deemed way too difficult to raid, or not realistic enough, you will be asked to take it down. You may not have two doors of any kind (fading or map doors) right up against one another; this is known as double-dooring. Unless RP'd as a den or hobo shack, you may not have bases that you have to crouch-walk to enter. As long as your base is both reasonable and realistic, it will be allowed.

Job Rules
Changing jobs just to purchase guns, or use another perk of that job, and then changing back is known as job abuse and is not allowed. If there are no arms dealers online and you ask an admin, they may allow it, however.

Misc Rules
Below are misc rules you must follow.

Do not abuse other players in OOC. IC abuse is fine, but to a point. If it offends somebody, or is used as an excuse to break the rules, it will not be allowed.
Do not threaten people, or the server, in anyway.
You may not kill yourself to avoid any kind of RP situation, or OOC situation.
You may not give out large amounts of money for no reason.
Making loud, annoying noises or playing music through the mic is not allowed.

If you have any other rules you think should be added, feel free to ask a member of staff, and it will be addressed.
