According to various references from apocryphal and canonical sources, Seraphim are angels standing around God[3]. The first mention of the Seraphim in the Bible is in the Book of Isaiah (the old Testament); they appear in his account of a strange vision before his call to the temple of Jerusalem:

"Above Him stood the Seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered each face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And they cried to each other and said: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts! the whole earth is full of his glory!
