Located in the Epsilon Eridani system in FLEETCOM Sector One, Reach was one of the most important headquarters for the UNSC. With the largest population second to Earth, Reach served as the UNSC's largest naval base, and strategic headquarters.

Reach's darkest hour was near the close of the Human-Covenant War in 2552. The battle was a disaster for the numerically-inferior UNSC fleet, despite their Super MAC Guns. CASTLE base was destroyed after the planet's fall. UNSC forces finally abandoned the planet during the Raid of Reach, a few weeks later. Most of the planet was glassed but the Spartans that defended Reach are still MIA...
