Sionis Industries is a company that is owned and operated by respected businessman Roman Sionis, located within the Industrial District of Gotham. They mainly manufacture steel, and appear to be expanding operations, taking over the San Andreas Steel Mill and are reportedly in negotiations with city officials to open a Los Santos based office for the company. There have been rumors that Sionis may be the criminal known to many as the "Black Mask", but he has repeatedly rebuffed such claims calling them "Unfounded" and "Idiotic".


The Falcone Crime Family, also known as "The Roman" Empire after their former leader, Carmine "The Roman" Falcone, was the major crime family of Gotham in the 80s. Following a series of reported altercations with a mysterious bat-like creature, and the gruesome rampages of serial killers the Hangman and the Holiday Killer (later identified as Alberto Falcone) during the events that many call “The Long Halloween”, their number and power dwindled. They have since relocated to Los Santos, San Andreas to recuperate, and maybe one day, return to reclaim the city they had once lost.

The Falcones are connected to the Viti family in Chicago, the Gazzo family in Metropolis, the now Los Santos-based Maronis, and the Gotham-based Sullivan Family and the Skeevers brothers, Jefferson and Eddie. Following the death of Carmine Falcone and the incarceration of Alberto Falcone, the criminal only known as the Black Mask has reportedly assumed control of the organization.


The Maroni Crime Family was once a crime family operating in Gotham City. Under the reign of Big Lou Maroni, they were bitter rivals of the Falcone Crime Family, though Carmine Falcone decided to keep Lou’s son Sal Maroni closer. Following the deaths of Carmine Falcone and Big Lou Maroni at the hands of the Holiday Killer during the series of events known as The Long Halloween in the early 90s, the organization, under leadership of Sal Maroni, was absorbed into the Falcones by the Black Mask. They have since relocated to Los Santos, San Andreas with the Falcones.
