Set in the world of Nintendo's F-Zero franchise, F-Zero: Azure Justice is a story about how one man overcomes his history of pain and trauma, and becomes the Hero that will define a generation.

The story begins in February of 2583. It's been a few years since Captain Falcon defeated Black Shadow and Deathborn. The F-Zero Grand Prix has calmed down in recent seasons, as pilots have settled in to racing for the sake of good competition, rather than trying to kill each other on the track. But that all gets thrown on its head when notorious bank robber Ricky "Dead Man's Hand" Blackwood and his Black Canyon Gang decide to join the series.

Enter fifteen-year veteran of the Milky Way Space Federation Army, Major Thomas Darkhorse. He resigned from the Army in 2578 and has spent the last few years back in his home town of Golden Forest, Montana, in the United Continental States. When the Black Canyon Gang start making trouble in Golden Forest, Darkhorse springs into action to bring them down. Behind him is a local private security firm, Azure Wolves Private Security. Though they are a small bunch, they're dedicated to the cause of keeping Golden Forest safe.

But one day, the worst comes to pass: the Azure Wolves are nearly completely wiped out, leaving only Darkhorse and a slim handful of survivors. They're forced to disband due to the losses suffered. The survivors gather what they can of their organization's remnants, and use the meager funds they pull together to get Darkhorse onto the F-Zero Grand Prix.

Now, dragged onto a new battlefield, Darkhorse must use his skills, his experience, and his determination, to bring down the Black Canyon cowboys, and deliver high speed justice across the stars.

He is accompanied on his journey by Kagerou Hayami, a female Zouan who is the granddaughter of refugees that fled their homeworld just before a devastating invasion. Darkhorse and Hayami have known each other since not long after he left the Army, but he's never been willing to let himself get that close with her.

Now, though, Darkhorse realizes that he can't do this alone. And while Hayami might not be willing to fight in the field at Darkhorse's side, her support might come in a far more important manner than just shooting bad guys...

From the Grand Prix to city streets, from the centers of civilization to the edges of settled space, Darkhorse will journey across space to bring his vision of peace to the stars.
