Mission Statement:
As an organization of elite generals, Excubitores, unlike many other clans, represents a tightly knit community. We do not seek conflict. Instead, we wish to cultivate a sense of friendship among all our members. A clan which does not possess unity of mind and mutual understanding is doomed to disintegrate. Hence, let us join hands and turn Excubitores into the most respected Shogun 2 force in existence!

Clan Focus:
We are a cavalry-based clan. It is our belief that cavarly tactics, if mastered, are a fearsome foe to deal with.

Origin:
Excubitores were founded in ca. 460 as the imperial guards of the early Byzantine emperors. Their commanders soon acquired great influence and provided a series of emperors in the 6th century. The Excubitors fade from the record in the late 7th century, but in the mid-8th century, they were reformed into one of the elite tagmatic units, the professional core of the middle Byzantine army.

Shogun 2 Code of Honor:
- no camping
- no artillery (except for the little grenade launchers)
- no trash talk
- no alt-f4 and no plug-pulling against players who play fairly (violation of this last rule will result in immediate expulsion)
