Texas Independence Forever

Today I have met the comanche savges on the field of battle. It seems after our message was sent they began gathering their forces because they had us outnumbered by many thousands. The Army of the Rio Grande numbering 7,000 soldiers faced this force of an estimated 11,000 strong. Near the Llano River i had my men set up the artillery. As soon as the savages came out I ordered the canon to fire as fast as they could, then I sent my cavalry on flanking harassment missions. Many of the enemy were dead before they reached our volleys. When they tried a flank charge with their cavalry I had the men on the flank form square, this destroyed their cavalry. The men who died defending our flank were the only melee casualties of the day on our side. Once the enemy reached our musket range our lines fired volley after volley into the savages killing thousands. Once the enemy started retreating the lines continued to fire volley after volley until they were out of range, this was accompanied by the canons firing canister shot into them as they ran. Finally the cavalry chased away the stragglers ending the battle. We took minor casualties for how far outnumbered we were. Every man who fought in the battle will recieve the Battle of Llano River Ribbon for their bravery. For all of our casualties their families will recieve the 50 dollar payment for their loss as well as the Texas flag and their lost ones ribbon The savages lost nearly their whole force with only an estimated 2,000 surviving. If they prove to be a nuisance I will march back with my army to rid ourselves of them, but for the time being the Army of the Rio Grande with return to the capital.
