《魔女の旅々》The Journey of Elaina

本作の主人公は、「平和の国ロベタ」出身の天才魔女、魔女名「灰の魔女（灰の魔女）」。誕生日は10月17日、小説開始時は18歳。お金やグルメ（特にパン）や本が好きで、その部分の性格はある程度母親譲り。旅行中は仕事や依頼を受けてお金を稼いだり、占い師になりすましたり、偽物や非合法な魔法のアイテムを販売したりするなど、詐欺で稼いだりすることもあります。
猫アレルギーで、猫に会うとくしゃみが続き、目の跡がかゆくて涙が出る。幼い頃から小説『ニコルの冒険記』を読むのが好きで魔女ニコルに憧れ、魔女になって旅をしたいと思っていた。私は最初、自分の母親が魔女ニコルであることを知らなかった。フランは彼女にヒントを与えようとしたが、ニコルの身元が分かれば、自分が旅行を失うかもしれない理由を拒否した。
14歳の時に苦労せずに試験に合格して魔女見習いになったが、故郷の魔女たちはエレナの才能を嫉妬したり恐れたりして弟子入りを拒否し続け、「スターダスト・ウィッチ」フランの噂を知って弟子入りした。15歳の時に満師で魔女となり、その後両親に認められて列国周遊の旅に出る。フランとの修行中には、物を話す薬や魔法、一時的に物を人間の姿に変える魔法をつけていた。

The protagonist of this story is a genius witch from the “Peaceful Kingdom of Robeta,” known by the witch name “Ash Witch.” Her birthday is October 17, and she is 18 years old at the start of the novel. She loves money, good food (especially bread), and books, traits she inherited to some extent from her mother. While traveling, she earns money by taking on jobs and commissions, impersonating a fortune-teller, or selling counterfeit or illegal magical items—sometimes resorting to fraud to make a living.

She is allergic to cats; whenever she encounters one, she sneezes continuously, her eyes itch, and she tears up. Since childhood, she has loved reading the novel *The Adventures of Nicol* and has idolized the witch Nicol, dreaming of becoming a witch and traveling the world. At first, I didn’t know that my own mother was the witch Nicol. Fran tried to give her a hint, but she refused, fearing that if Nicol’s identity were revealed, she might lose her chance to travel.

At age 14, she passed the exam with ease and became a witch apprentice, but the witches in her hometown, jealous or afraid of Elena’s talent, kept refusing to take her as a disciple. She eventually became an apprentice to “Stardust Witch” Fran after hearing rumors about her. At the age of 15, she became a fully-fledged witch and was subsequently recognized by her parents, setting out on a journey to tour the nations. During her training with Fran, she mastered potions and spells that made objects speak, as well as spells that temporarily transformed objects into human form.
