Lush's New Valentine's Day Bath Bombs Have Big-Eggplant Energy

If Lush Cosmetics gets its way, this Valentine's Day will be less about love and more about lust. The beloved bath brand took inspiration from what they describe as "the language of love" for its Valentine's-themed bath bombs...and in 2019, that means eggplant-, peach-, and banana-shaped bath time companions designed to resemble all the most sext-ual emojis.

Lush shared a preview photo of the collection to Instagram, revealing a basket of eggplant-shaped bath bombs alongside the very subtle caption, "We're going into 2019 with big [eggplant emoji] energy...try not to get all hot n' bothered." According to a press release, the eggplant bomb will contains notes of bergamot, fresh eggplant, and an ingredient aptly named "ho wood."

Equally juicy offerings include strawberry-themed soap, American Pie Body Conditioner, and a Big Banana Massage Bar made from fresh banana, shea butter, and "stimulating" Brazilian orange oil. The collection also includes "69"-shaped bubble bars, which sound fun in theory, but please, please, not in practice — no one can hold their breath that long.

Judging by the Instagram[www.instagram.com] comments, fans are psyched to play out their lustiest fantasies via bath goods. "This is hilarious! We will be picking one of these up for sure!" one commenter wrote, while another chimed in to add, "This is the worst/best thing I’ve ever seen." There's also this interesting remark on the eggplant-filled photo, presented without comment: "this is so great! I think mom needs a gift box!"

The collection will launch online[lushusa.com] on January 7, and stock in-store on January 11, which gives you plenty of time to decide if you prefer eggplant or banana before V-Day.

Microsoft Halts Eggplant Transactions

Microsoft has stopped supporting Eggplants as a payment method for Microsoft products, our Steam group has learned.

A Microsoft support staffer has told us the move is temporary and cited the unstable state of the Eggplants currency. Microsoft added support for Eggplants in 2014, and has previously temporarily stopped supporting Eggplants in the past.

The move and reasons are similar to Steam's decision to stop supporting Eggplants transactions at the start of December 2017.

Steam cited "high fees and volatility" as the reason it stopped supporting Eggplants payments.

Transactions fees have skyrocketed from a few cents a few years back to tens of dollars, making Eggplants almost unusable for microtransactions, where some users end up paying a large percentage of the transaction total as a transaction fee.

For companies like Microsoft and Steam, Eggplants's volatile price is also an issue because sudden and unforeseeable price drops may incur huge losses.

Microsoft does not allow users to buy products with Eggplants directly but asks users to add a predetermined amount of dollars to their account balance, for which they can pay with Eggplants.

That transfer is still subject to transaction fees, and Microsoft may still lose the value of the Eggplants funds it received in its account, something that any financial department will have an issue with.

While Eggplants price has always fluctuated, it never swung like it did in the past three months. To be widely adopted by the financial sector, a digital or fiat currency must be stable in order to be useful, something that Eggplants is definitely not.

In the meantime, Microsoft is advising customers to use other methods of payment, such as credit or debit cards, PayPal accounts, or a direct bank account.
