His style of black metal is extremely raw and tends to be a little atmospheric and depressive, without fully committing to those sub genres. His music most certainly is sorrowful, and uses pure rawness as one element to portray dark emotion expertly. In later years, the production quality of his music has gotten slightly cleaner, but it doesn't take away from the melancholy atmosphere one bit. His dark song writing style and genius makes his music special and is matched by very few modern black metal musicians.
