The World on Fire

Defending the coastline from possible threats, Uruguay has been isolationist for the majority of the 20's, but has still profiteered from trade. After the economy collapsed,the current president had to restore order. Now he rules by uniting the Colardos and the Blancos. Both sides have come to a undestanding that the nation must be united to face the oncoming threat and chaos of the world. To do this, Uruguay must be stronger, with a larger army, a larger and more modern navy to face the world's threats. Uruguay's common La Plata culture is shared by the Brazilian rebels, who are fighting against a tyrannous government who wish to oppress the ethnic whites in the province. Uruguay must save these people, but to save them it must be mutually beneficial, or in the future it would never work. As a result Uruguay has to make a drastic offer to defend against the world in these drastic times.



Navarro's Offer

Alfred Navarro hence offers the people of the Rio Grande do Sol province, who has risen their arms against the Brazilian government the promise of a union to defend them against authoritarianism with no legitimacy whatsoever. If Rio Grande do Sol does accept the offer, then all Uruguayan navy vessels, and all of our troops will come to the cause of their rebellion and fight for their right to exist as a single union, a union that stands against the wrong when it is discovered and fight for what is right, if need be to the very end. Together, we will be unstoppable. Navarro will hopefully secure this union, and once the war is over, will step down for a full republic with new elections with the population of the Rio Grande do Sol with total suffrage, and secure their people with the security of full citizenship , with the same rights of any Uruguayan, and on a ending note, this possible Union proposed by Navarro will be just that- a Union. The states will be fair in legislature and political power. Once this war is over, Uruguay will be victorious with their brethren!


The Homefront

Industry is important to the people of Uruguay, and hence that of their northern brothers. The more retooling of Uruguay factories to produce more materials , and the option to focus on a free market and open enterprise to export Uruguayan products, and to simplify the system for our natives to open corporations to form. Anyone with proper citizenship has the ability to open a company within just a few weeks. Uruguay will end up stronger economically then it ever has before, and this deep depression will be uplifted by the souls of our people.
