ABOUT Digital Rights Movement

First off, we are not anti-steam, we are pro-original steam. This new steam is destroying our rights.

The rights to our purchases have been damaged, had we bought the games we purchased via Steam instead of retail, we would be able to use them for LAN and bigger yet play one game on one computer and another on another using the same said account, but no more.

If we purchased Retail, We would still have all these features. One of the advantages of Steam was that is was more conveniant, Not today it isn't.

This Movement is for those who find trouble with these new Steam Restrictions on what we can do with our product, We stand against the giant corporation that refuses to aknowledge our Rights to use our products.

All we ask if Steam give back our rights and to the members, find the other users who support this by inviting them and asking whether they agree.

Its a little ironic with the abbr, it's DRM, when we're up against unnecessarily heavy DRM. To make it more ironic, its kinda anti-steam(notice our icon) and its made in Steam

As from the original forum post:
Now the only benefit of buying through Steam instead of retail is availability and no need for discs. But retail offers potential lower prices, but mainly each game can access a computer instead of hovering around your head limiting use to one unit. I am proposing some Improvements that will make Steam overall better than retail by giving it all or most benefits of Retail.

- Each individual purchase honored
Retail games runs independently, so to make Steam equal, each individual package should be allowed on another computer. As an Example(edited): assuming you bought the Orange Box and Left 4 Dead, each have their own individual license, you wont be able to play Portal and TF2 at the same time, but you would be able to play Portal and Left 4 Dead. This being honored, since people can already make a new account for each purchase, would make that possibility obsolete, no more dodging. If we can do it, you should let us.

- Gifting owned games
With Retail you can give your games you own to other people, on Steam there is no function that lets you do that. What i'm suggesting is a function to transfer games between accounts as a gift, but to make it non-exploitable, put a "Gift Wrapping" cost of 5-10$.

- LAN Ticketing
As you may have noticed, LAN is no longer possible, I'm suggesting a fair way to allow LAN parties. LAN ticketing to other computers of OFFLINE versions of the game that cant access online or play story-mode. They require an internet connection to function, but only can play LAN games.

Hi all, I joined this group for I agree steam can sometimes be practical, but also really annoying...especially because I don't always have internet (bad connection é_è) and steam prevents me to play OFFLINE games ine offline mode...I'd like to hear for which reason i can't, since i boughe them with steam, and played them online several times...no really, I don't see the point, and this pisses me off.
