DayZ Refuge Server Group Page

We've been sending a lot of people to this steam group with little explanation as to why, so here goes:

The short/long term goal (a mutual goal I hope) with DZR is to have fun playing DayZ while limiting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is DayZ alpha. I'm talking about the rampant hacking, cheating and griefing.

So how do we do that? Well, in short, we need a common goal, a tiny bit of organization, a good deal of trust, and a lot of really cool (mature) players.

If we had say, 30-40 active group members calling this server "home", we could collectively police the server. Right now we shut down the server daily and turn it on again nightly, this limits the overall exposure by random players.

Once (and if) we get enough members we can change the server message to "Non Members are Shoot on Sight" which should discourage others from joining. Probably wont stop them, but it will hopefully limit the amount of random players who "favorite" the server.

Anyhow, feel free to pitch in however. Suggestions or whatnot. This isn't a clan. I'm not a leader. I just want to enjoy playing with cool people and do whatever I can to avoid those who want to ruin it for us.
