What's everyone up to now adays? Its been a really long while. Just saw this group on my steam page lol, though I'd take a look and be a little bit nostalgic. I spent many hours on this server. It had such a cool player base. - Nacho if anyone is wandering who this is.

SeanCain here! If anyone here is interested in reliving the good ol' days of DNV, I've taken over BeardCraft for BigScary and I've continued his legacy in keeping the server as close to vanilla as possible while maintaining Grief Prevention claims and Population Density's region system. The server is constantly being updated - currently running 1.12.1 - and will remain open for the foreseeable future. Hey, this is Cap. I know I'm a few months late, but as there been an update with the server? Have people gone to the new one that BigScary mentioned? I noticed that the old server's IP is active again so I thought I'd ask.

It's BigScary again - I posted here about 6 months ago after stumbling across this steam group. :) I'm disappointed to see the original DNV server hasn't made a comeback! However, my new server "BeardCraft" has been up for about 8 months now, and it's designed the same as DNV - vanilla plus land claims. If you're still into Minecraft and looking for a server, I'd love to chat with some of you guys again! Sunder, it'd be great if you can start up a server again, Maria and I were just talking about how we miss it. Its still the only public server I've ever really liked.

Hey guys it's BigScary, server founder. I think it's great you're thinking about starting up the server again, and I love seeing all these positive comments about how the server was valuable to so many of you. Big thanks to Smac(Sunder..?) for taking the server and keeping it going. I think most servers would just fall over dead when the original founder left, but he took on both the cost and responsibility of running the server to keep it going for all of you. :)

I'm running a similar server today. If you decide against starting DNV up again, let me know and I'll pass along the information for my server for anyone who's feeling homesick. :)

Sponge -the new modding platform has seen some development over the past month.
BigScary, the old dev for Grief Prevention, (our main plugin) rejoined the team and has been working on it from time to time.
In the next month or so...should I see progress with plugins, there's a chance I might be setting up a new server. Same setup...just updated.

This isn't a guarantee but I am saying I would like to possibly start things up again should it seem plausible.

We’re playing the 1.8.1 release and have claimprotect and the travelpost plugin installed. We have made a public region for all to get a headstart on some stuff. We have an Endfarm, a Guardianfarm and public xpgrinders. It's been a very nice and long run, longer than most servers. I've met some lifelong friends on this server, and I'd like to thank the server for that. Thanks for the hundreds of hours of fun :P

Just wanted to say goodbye for a few months. It has been great being back on the server. Hopefully I'll be back within a few months, thank you all for being so great.

I can't play anymore I got "Internal Exception: java.IOException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" and it through me out of the game, Now every time I try to reconnect I get "java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out: no further information:"

I've tried reinstalling minecraft, rebooting my computer, rebooting me modem and router and nothing fixes it. I am able to connect to other minecraft servers without issue.

The sevrer's whitelisted for the moment so we can work on things and get the plugins up and running. At the moment all that's left to do is implement "Storage" region and the Arena and we'll be good to go. The arena however may take a little bit, was a really complex big build to bring over.

Ive been having problems with java also. Part of why i havent been on recently.

So ah, any updates at all now recently?

So... I've heard a possible map reset, but is it true? I know that the current map is really old, coming from 1.3 or something like that. How will the transfers work this time, or will we truly start from scratch?

My java is realy ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and I cant play minecraft :P

What happened to the amount of people on the server? It used to have so much life but now it feels kinda empty with 2-6 people on it.

It looks as though the server is up! I assume you guys are making adjustments still. Will it be updated to 1.4.6 by the time it goes live?

Mojang and the Minecraft servers are experience a major service outage at the moment so work has halted on getting us back up and running.

Whitelisting however seems to be on the fritz or something. It's not working right. If you do happen to join, please for the time being just step out till you see more posts saying we're open to the public. That being said we probably have more than half the claims marked in the village under the admin claim feature. Upon joining you'll have to request it be given back to you.

Annoying yes, but the only way to ensure people don't destroy or take your stuff.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice there was a group thing for the server, nice.
I wanted to start out fresh so I cannot wait to play once it's ready. xD

Just a few more things to put in guys, when I'm done I'll do slight prettying up with MCEdit folllowed by putting in for the server to go back online.

Once it's online and running we're going to have it whitelisted (FOR THE TIME BEING)
Staff is gonna come on and we'll get to claiming the builds and prettying more stuff up. Soon as we're satisfied with it all we'll be online.

At the earliest I think we'll be up around tomorrow night or sometime the following day.
