The Official 2014 DEFCON Tournament

In a narrow victory, TheDarknessPwns has beaten CmdrWarPig by a score of 18 to 14 (Survivor Mode). Darkness was selected as North America, with WarPig being South America. This provided for some fairly interesting close quarters type combat. Early on, Darkness made the crucial mistake of not placing any of his naval fleets out on his East Coast. However, he did manage to get a number of subs in that area, and instead focused the rest of his naval power on the West Coast. WarPig spread his naval forces evenly over both areas, and early on his fleets were taken out completely on the West Coast by a full-on assault. With no resistance met on the East Coast though, WarPig was free at Defcon 1 to launch a full scale naval assault on the area. Hitting New York and other key cities with his subs and bombers, it began to line him up for a victory. At the same time however, Mexico was completely eradicated from the map by the hand of Darkness's airbase and naval bombers. With the game already close, things escalated when WarPig launched an assault on the West Coast from some hidden subs. Hitting the cities he needed to, it put him back ahead. It wasn't long however until Darkness gained back a small lead through some stray bombing attacks and a few sub nukes off of the West Coast of South America. Then, WarPig opened up all of his silos. Managing to take the lead back very briefly by destroying the southern part of the United States. WarPigs silos were then hit by a barage of nukes from Darkness's silos, leaving him nearly defenseless by the end of the game. Capitalizing on this, Darkness fired off every last nuke he had at the South American cities with everything coming down to the very last second. In the end though, Darkness narrowly avoided a lost and is sliding on through to the semi-finals now! Congratulations to TheDarknessPwns!
