First Church of Sheriffism

Sheriff is Nintendo's first protagonist that appeared in the arcade game with the same name back in 1979, two years before Mario appeared in Donkey Kong and one year before Game & Watch and Mr. Game & Watch was created. Shigeru Miyamoto was the designer of Sheriff and the various characters that appeared in the game..

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$: This cameo is the same as the cameo in the original WarioWare.


Sheriff appears as an Assist Trophy in at least Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. When summoned, he fires in any of eight directions at opposing characters. The shots cannot be absorbed, but they can still be reflected
