National Conventions of 1880; Part 2

The National Conventions have ended, and the following has been decided for the running of the elections this November.

The Republican Nomination

For the Republican Committee, the ballots had a clear choice: Grant's run for a third attempt have been dashed, and "Half-Breed" nominee James G. Blaine has won the final ballot at the Republican Convention. However, in order to appease the "Stalwart" faction of the Party, the VP Candidacy was given to status-quo Republican George F. Edmunds, a Senator from Vermont.

The Democratic Nomination

The Democratic Convention nominated Hero of Gettysburg Winfield Scott Hancock, alongside the VP Nominee William H. English, a Democratic Representative from Indiana.

Other Nominations

The Anti-Masonic Party and the Prohibition Party already have their nominations down, however, the largest third party: the Greenback Party has nominated James B. Weaver with the VP Barzillai J. Chambers

The elections are on, this November, and the campaigning has begun. May the best man for the job win.
