The 148th ID was originally founded to bring order to the wastes, but has turned into a groop of hardened amoral mercenaries.


Some 148th ID soldiers still try to keep the peace, and the 148th as a whole often acts as a force for good, but they are unstable. If they get bored, they've been known to go on suicidal charges. Infighting is common, and internal communications are poor, but when they're on their a-game they can be quite effective.

The 148th is known to build doom fortresses, send commando teams to put down groups of bandits, and organize platoon-size strike actions against entire criminal organizations.

The wiley mercenary army is financially backed by an American called Fritz, who is often regarded as foolish. Still, he routinely manages to put together enough money to fund crusade after crusade, and has a nack for holding his team together under pressure... When he's not drunk. In general, he takes the role of strategic planner and operations control- At least, he tries to.

The 148th also relies heavily on a Latvian Sniper, Dzintar ("Deezie"). He generally does more killing than anyone else, and takes the vital role of Guardian Angel for the team, providing overwatch with a Grizzly-type anti-material rifle.


An Australian Commando, "Slash", provides much-needed CQB support. Able to work quietly and carefully. He has shown a willingness to work independantly from the team, performing vital supply and support missions.

The last founding member, Reji, is of less certain origins. No one remembers how he came onto the team, or where he found the huge wads of cash he showed up with, but no one questions his ability in combat. He, along with Slash and Fritz, make up the 148th ID's CQB strike commando team.
