A man in his late 20s has been shot in both legs in west Belfast.

The man was found in an alleyway at albert street off the falls road at about 20:40 GMT on Wednesday.

He was taken to hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information about the attack to contact them.



"Whilst these injuries are not life threatening, this was a brutal attack. It is yet another example of how criminal groups seek to control communities through fear and violence.
