Avatar Set To Repeat Its Success & Avatar Sequel

Avatar was a huge success in the theaters, and seems to be on its way to repeat the success in our homes. In three days it sold 6.7 million copies; on blu-ray and DVD - according to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. This makes it the most successful four day home entertainment opening in history.

Also.. there are plans for a sequel. This movie will be set in the underwater regions of planet Pandora. James Cameron tells this to LA Times, and then says that what made the first movie mindblowing will still exist - but just in a different environment (underwater rather than a rainforest). There will, however, also still be portions of the environments seen in the first movie in this movie.

Avatar has been released!

The movie was released yesterday in a Blu-Ray/DVD pack for USD $19.99 in a 2D format.

Sales for the movie are on the brink of breaking records and to top that off it came with a new type of BD+ protection.

The protection that they put on the movie was hacked and defeated within 24 hours of the movie being released and 720p copies have been plastered on every major warez and pirating site on the net, a 1080p copy is still yet to be released because of time and size of the film.

If you are wanting the 3D version of the film you will have to wait until November sadly because the marketing for this is going in the "double dipping" direction to hopefully double profits.
