I'm currently trying to write a review here for Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day), but I've been procrastinating, and I wanna actually post something here, so... I wanna quick fire talk about yuri oneshots that aren't particularly healthy.

Like most yuri enjoyers, I do quite like pure, wholesome fluff stuff. 'tis only natural. But... Tragic yuri and toxic yuri are some of my guilty pleasures, and specific genres in the scene I think we need more of! Stories like that are just so interesting, methinks... so then! Lemme tell you 'bout some unhealthy yuri oneshots now.

Punish You Properly, Bind You Gently[dynasty-scans.com] - BDSM toxic yuri, a bit of a classic. Honestly, the bullying aspect is a bit... overly dramatic. Like, people take the main conflict here a bit too seriously, but I think it's solid otherwise. 'tis a good yandere x messed up girl story. It makes me hope the author gets serialised.

You are my pet[dynasty-scans.com] - Abused child x slave yuri, authored by Sakasana AKA the creator of 'In the Gardens of Gehenna'. Apparently this is one of his more lighter works, I don't actually know though, as I haven't read any of them yet. Anyway, it's quite good. It says a lot even though one of the main characters doesn't actually speak. It's full of emotion, and it's messed up, while also being kinda cute, in both art and story. Nice stuff.

My beloved, you are a chimera[mangadex.org] - This one! It's a fantastic oneshot. Very good stuff. It's about how people can change over time, and perhaps, things aren't how they seem. And... still being in love with who they once were, not coming to terms with how they are now, how they really are. It's so good. I wish this author made more.

My Waltz[mangadex.org] - A heartbreaking, yet kinda sweet (in like a really messed up way) story. It's 2 girls pretending, pretending for the sake of each other. They're both broken in their own ways, but they cannot bring themselves to tell the other... because... what may happen after could ruin it all. It's just a good example of an unhealthy relationship.

And finally, Only Each Other[dynasty-scans.com] - A oneshot for Yuri Hime's 20th anniversary, created by Kashikaze, who is known for fluff. It's kind of a... toxic relationship, while also being somewhat healthy, 'cause both parties know that... it's pretty messed up. It's a thing where the two leads are sort-of made for each other, and it can't really be another way. It's good overall, and considering how Kashikaze has made only fluff, I'd be interested in seeing her next work as some kind of toxic yuri story; she could definitely do well at it.

Taskmaster!

Right, so... The whole reason this group even exists is because... well, it was at the suggestion of a friend, but! The other reason is... so I could gush about stuff. So, lemme gush a bit and sell you on the British comedy panel show, Taskmaster.

The gist of the show is very simple! 5 public figures (generally British comedians), set out to complete various silly tasks written by the Taskmaster, Greg Davies (actually his assistant and show creator Alex Horne, but that's a story for another time). These tasks can range from figuring out what a switch does, to learning Swedish in 5 minutes to best demonstrate the Swedish language in a conversation with an actual Swedish person, to spreading jam on a slice of toast in a really cool way. (all real tasks from the show btw)
They are then judged in the studio months later, by the man himself, with his assistant listing some facts. Whoever scores the highest in the episode wins 5 prizes matching the category of the week that were brought in at the start of the show, and whoever scores the highest overall wins a fable trophy of the Taskmaster's head!

It's a fairly odd premise, but it is sooooo much fun! The show is absolutely hilarious, with everyone giving out some great humour, seeing the contestants go about the tasks and solving them in their own ways can be genuinely impressive sometimes, and lest I forget, the dynamic between Greg, the big scary man, and (little) Alex Horne, the more submissive, butt of all jokes, is just fantastic! All of it works incredibly together to create such a wonderful, wonderful show.

Frankly, I don't have any suggestions on where to start, but I started from Series 1 going up, so do what you may with that information.
If you're not entirely sold, however, then it's a different story! Do not start with Series 1 in that case, as it's but the first series, and therefore, the show hadn't truly found its footing at that point. I would suggest starting with Series 2 instead, or perhaps some of the strongest series (those being Series 5, 7, and 9). The choice is up to you here.

But uhh, yeah! I think that might be all I really have to say. My words can't really do too much justice to it, so... Go watch Taskmaster! The show speaks for itself! You won't regret it!
